Cartier Serial Number Ring

Here are five ways to determine if your Cartier Love Bracelet is real—or just a really good fake.1. Closely read the hallmarks and logos.Every Cartier Love bracelet is stamped with a “hallmark” that indicates the metal quality. Love Bracelets made out of 18K gold are stamped with 18K, 750 or sometimes both numbers. Platinum Love Bracelets, meanwhile, are marked with the numerals 950. If those hallmarks are not impressed on your bracelet, it’s definitely a warning sign. And double-check the spelling and typography of the Cartier logo. It the brand name is misspelled or not in the iconic cursive font, your bracelet is—sorry to say—a forgery.2.

Genuine Cartier watches have a unique serial number. But 17 050343 is a 'stock' number put onto multiple fake/replica watches. As such, it is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay to wear an IMITATION Cartier watch. Apr 09, 2020  Each product will have Cartier’s logo, the metal type and unique serial number stamped on it. Feel the weight and evaluate the quality of the material make. The screws should be aligned perfectly, even the slightest imperfection may mean it’s a fake. Check if there is any discoloration or chipping present.

Feel its weight and evaluate its quality.Across its entire collection, Cartier uses only high-quality and durable gold and platinum metals. In turn, an immediate giveaway is the weight of the bracelet. Depending on their size and metal, a Cartier Love Bracelet should weigh between 30 and 38 grams (roughly the equivalent of five to six US quarter coins).

Fake bracelets oftentimes are comparatively much lighter than authentic Love Bracelets. Also areas of discoloration or chipping metal—even more so if there is another color underneath it—are indicators that the piece is not genuine.Cartier is also very meticulous with their quality control. Therefore, the screws of the Love Bracelet should always be in perfect alignment.3. Price compare.Brand new standard yellow gold Cartier Love Bracelets retail for $6,300 USD and, because they are highly coveted and made of the finest materials by skilled craftsmen, they do not significantly depreciate in value. So keep that $6,300 figure in mind as you price compare; the quoted resale price should not waver too far from the original ticket price. So if the price seems too good to be true, it probably is.But one notable outlier here is the Charles Revson Love Bracelet.

In the 1970s, Cartier partnered with Charles Revson, founder of Revlon Cosmetics, to release a special edition Love Bracelet. Stamped with “Charles Revson” on the inside, this iteration was a less expensive version of the original.

To keep costs low, the Revson Love Bracelets were electroplated and unscrewed only on one side. These vintage Revson Love Bracelets are in circulation but should be advertised and priced accordingly. Some vendors may not disclose that you are looking at a Revson Love Bracelet and tag it as simply a Love Bracelet and pricing it as if it was a solid Love Bracelet. So beware if the price of the Love Bracelet you’re eyeing seems unusually inexpensive.4. Verify the seller’s reputation.Scrutinize the seller’s website and research any customer reviews that can provide insight into the seller’s legitimacy. Be wary of sellers who do not list where they’re headquartered or do not indicate where their product is being shipped from.5. Get an official appraisal. After you receive your Cartier Love Bracelet—even if you’re confident it’s 100% authentic—you should have it independently appraised as proof positive you’re in possession of the real thing. Click to expand.Cartier charges for their services. As far as I am aware, as long as the piece appears to be Cartier and you're willing to pay for their services, they'll more than likely oblige your request to polish the item you bring in. And they usually need to send the item away to have it cleaned/polished/repaired. It often takes a while. Cartier is never in a hurry, in my experience.I would suggest getting friendly with a sales associate and asking them what they think of your piece. Just to gauge their reaction. But yes, I do believe that Cartier would polish an authentic-looking replica, as they don't bother authenticating. Cartier charges for their services.

I've never heard of Cartier returning unauthentic items 'all smashed up'. That's actually illegal.

Cartier would then be responsible for the replacement value and, unless they can prove that the item wasn't authentic - without a doubt - they would then have to replace the item with what the customer claimed to have sent for repair.I do agree that Cartier won't accept items that have been altered by a jeweler other than those authorized/employed by Cartier. They will, however, bill you for the time they spent determining that the item had been altered and that there is no note of it in their service records.Again, I would only purchase from a Cartier boutique, an authorized Cartier dealer, or someone who you know for a fact sells only authentic pieces. I would definitely try this!

The only problem I could see is if the original purchaser's name is in their computer and your details don't match. But then the piece would have had to have been purchased fairly recently.

Otherwise, I don't see a problem in requesting that a new certificate be issued for your item. The fee would be worth having documentation!

Click to expand.I'm only saying what the AD told me I'm not speaking from experience because I've only ever bought from AD or the Cartier boutique.I'm sure they would have proof enough & know 100% if an item of there's is indeed fake but yes I must admit I was surprised when the jeweller told me this.I was also told of a customer that had a fake Rolex which was sent to Rolex & they did the same & that was a different jeweller but maybe the law is different here in the UK but yes I do agree it seems very unfair & why not just send an item back if it turns out to be fake. Click to expand. My Cartier SA told me before that one of her clients bought a Cartier vintage watch with diamonds from a reputable source. However, she had to have something repaired. When she brought it in, the staff discovered that some of the diamonds, although real and beautifully designed, were put in by another jewelry designer post-sale.

While it is not a fake Cartier, having it altered made it ineligible to be repaired by them. Could that be the case of your Cartier watch too? Just wondering. Hope you find someone that could help you with the restoration of your watch soon. HI ShowgratitudeThanks or the reply.I thought about that possibility in the beginning too, but when I talked to the ambassador that explained to me that the' case is not correct and the hands are wrong and the glass is fake etc.' , it struck me that it is much more like it, that they are not able or capable of restoring that timepiece since it is an antique and from the 20's.They do not have any more parts for this in the warehouse, so they call it a fake instead of admitting not being able to work on it.There is nothing wrong with the watch its just that it needs a touch up on the dial face where the paint is deteriorating, ( which is typical for the tank from the 20's.)I will have the watch assessed by Cartier in Paris or Frankfurt since I have more faith in the craftsmen in Europe then in this country.
